Executive summary

Právny obzor is a peer-reviewed theoretical review for issues of state and law.

Právny obzor is the oldest scientific law review published in Slovakia and also one of the oldest law reviews in the Central European region. The print version of the review has been published continuously since 1917.

Six (6) issues of the review are published annually in the Slovak language.

Since 2017, the publisher has been continuously publishing a special English issue once a year within the given volume of the review, featuring original scientific articles by domestic and foreign authors written exclusively in English. The special issue of the review is published on-line in OPEN ACCESS mode.

The full-content online version of each issues of the journal published in the Slovak language are publicly available to users since 2019. The publisher applies the 3 months publishing embargo.

The review publishes original scientific manuscripts on a wide array of issues of the state and law submitted by Slovak and foreign authors. As a rule, 30 to 34 scientific articles are published in one volume of the review. All references are listed in Roman script. Publication of each submitted manuscript is subject to approval of the Editorial Board and must be always reviewed in advance by at least two reviewers – experts in the particular field of law. Content Structure

Each issue of the review contains 4 to 5 scientific articles. Each published scientific article contains the title, abstract, keywords and references (bibliographic list of used sources) in English.

Above the scientific articles, the review also contains regular columns: "Scientific events", informing about major scientific events held in Slovakia and abroad and "Reviews and annotations," providing information and reviews of domestic and foreign publications dealing with the issues of state law and legal philosophy published by domestic and/or foreign publishing houses.

An integral part of the review is the "News" column reporting about interesting dissertation theses of PhD. students, habilitation proceedings of new associate professors, professors, as well as informing about major anniversaries of reputable scientists in the field of legal science.

Cooperation with Wolters Kluwer

Since 2016, the publisher has cooperated with Wolters Kluwer (https://www.wolterskluwer.sk/), a reputable international publishing house for legal literature, currently printing and distributing the review.

Wolters Kluwer also markets the review and pursues related marketing activities.
